Tutorial Step 4: Establish the management stages

Note: This topic is part of the tutorial sequence to learn ChangeAide 3.3. The first step in the tutorial is Create a Product Breakdown Structure (PBS). to establish Management Stages

 

  The following steps take you through the entry of the Management Stages
Show Activities

Right click in any of the windows, and if it is there choose Show Activities.

The Project Activity List opens. You can toggle between Hide Activities and Show activities in this way.
Change the name of the Project activity
  1. In the Project Activity List, select the first activity: Project. The Act (Activity) tab opens on the right hand side of the screen showing the details of this activity.
  2. In the Act tab, click on the Title: Project to select it.
  3. Type Moved Shed over the text Project.
  4. Press <Return>. You have renamed the activity.
Change the Stage Names

This project is small and only needs two stages:

  • Initiation
  • Dismantle and Move Shed

We already have the Initiation stage. We need to change the name of the Next Stage activity to Dismantle and Move Shed.

  1. In the Project Activity List, select the Next Stage activity. The Act (Activity) tab opens on the right hand side of the screen showing the details of this activity.
  2. In the Act tab, click on the Title: Next Stage to select it.
  3. Type Dismantle and Move Shed over the text Next Stage.
  4. Press <Return>. You have renamed the activity.
Save your project
  1. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  2. Save your project in the examples folder: My Documents\My ProductBasedPlans\Examples.
  3. Save your project as ManagementStagesTutorial.
Open the example project
  1. From the File menu, choose Open.
  2. Browse to the examples folder.
  3. Open ShedExampleAct00.PBP. This shows the finished version of these Management Stages.
